On October 20, 1992, life for one East Texas family changed forever. Following the devastating sudden death of her father, Sharon Brown Keith embarked on a journey of grief and healing, of acceptance and personal growth and transformation.
In this moving memoir about love, loss, and letting go, Keith shares her recollections about growing up and coming of age under the tender and steadfast guidance of her father and hero. Weaving humor and popular culture throughout her heartfelt story, she reminds us that our pasts make us who we are in the present and that we can indeed encourage something truly positive to emerge from our darkest moments.

this was an excellent memoir....not a downer even though it was a story of great loss....how she dealt with it and the memories that made it so real . She put into words the feelings so many of us have felt with the loss of an integral person in our life, but were unable to express because we were so overwhelmed with grief...long term, never-endnig grief....but bearable with the help of a higher power......wonderful first book...I recommend it to all readers. Mockingbird Moments A Memoir eBook Sharon Brown Keith Reviews
You don't have to be female or Southern to appreciate this book. This is a book about the human spirit, and not only how it copes with grief, but how it changes you forever.
Add some East Texas humor and you will love it!
This is my friend's book so I can't wait to read it!
I couldn't put this book down once I got started. I grew up in Texas and went to college in East Texas so it brought up a lot of memories. The stories were heart warming and the humor sprinkled throughout kept it feeling lighthearted, even in the midst of great loss.
The author captured growing up in East Texas perfectly and evoked many memories of my past. Excellent writing - funny and tender. I loved this book. Thank you
Wonderfully written. Pulls on the heartstrings but moments of humor as well. Easy to relate to my own life of adapting to life without my dad (or any loved one).
This book was wonderfully written and I felt every emotion of the writer. Great memoir of the love between a father and daughter and how life can change in a moments notice and trying to recover and find a new normal.
Sharon is a friend of mine from high school. It was a joy to read her perspective of growing up in beautiful Nacogdoches. She captured the sweetness of family and the humor of adolescence. We both have been so blessed to be deeply loved and treasured by our parents. Thank you Sharon for sharing your journey with us. I loved it!
